book giveaway!

I have an extra copy of Gift from the Sea (in much better shape than the one I'm keeping!) so if someone else would like to read it, here's your chance. I'm including in this giveaway two of my scrap-made bookmarks. I didn't have any of seashells, but these seemed fitting with their seaside subjects. If you'd like to win the set, just leave a comment on this post.
I'll draw a winner's name at random the following weekend, Dec 4th. Happy reading, everyone!

  1. This sounds lovely. I'd love a chance to win it. Your review of it reminded me of a book I had to read in Literature & the Environment this semester. Apparently it's quite famous? Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard.

This doesn't sound quite so environmentally focused but I am really interested to see what sort of connections she makes between things from the sea and her life. I like when people use natural things as metaphors.

  4. Sam- It is really not much like Pilgrim at Tinker Creek (which I loved); this book is much shorter, simpler, and the seashells are drawn on only for metaphors, there's no real natural history. Still, both book are very good, in their own way!
