Meme: ABC's of Me

Sandy Nawrot at You've GOTTA Read This! tagged me for this fun ABC meme several weeks ago, and I never got around to it until today. So here you go, some tidbits about me:

Available or single? Nope. Married!

Best Friend? my husband

Cake or Pie? Cake

Drink of choice? Horchata

Essential item for every day use? Birkenstocks

Favorite color? Blue

Google? Yeah, I google everything

Hometown? Born in San Francisco, grew up in Seattle. I consider Seattle my hometown.

Indulgences? Chocolate. Books. Steaming hot baths. With candles. Preferably all together.

January or February? um, what?

Kids and their names? Isabel, 4

Life is incomplete without…? A cat in residence

Marriage date? Jan 2nd. We wanted it to be New Year's Day, but that didn't happen

Number of siblings? Three sisters

Oranges or apples? Apples. Organic, so you can enjoy chewing the skin without a bitter taste of pesticides.

Phobias and fears? Mold. Especially on food. Freaks me out. I can squash spiders and chase snakes, but have to call hubby to remove a fuzzy orange from the fruit bowl.

Quote for the day? "A good novel tells us the truth about is hero; but a bad novel tells us the truth about its author." - G.K. Chesterton

Reason to smile? The smell of rain in springtime. Blooming nasturtiums. A purring cat.

Season? Fall. I love the crisp smell in the air, and the colors of the leaves.

Tag 3 people? Caribousmom, Jenny, Trish or anyone who wants to join in!

Unknown fact about me? I played the clarinet in high school (not very well)

Vegetable you hate? Turnips

Worst habit? Chewing my nails

X-rays you’ve had? My broken toe!

Your fave food? Right now I'd love some chicken mole

Zodiac sign? I don't read horoscopes, but I'm a Libra

I don't like turnips cooked, but I love them raw!

Horchata. You are a kindred soul. Bless you.

While I cannot agree with the cats thing, everything else was pretty interesting and incredibly nice :D

Every time someone writes mole, it startles me. I think of the animal when I see that. Chicken moles was a new one on me though ;P

I love Fall too. It's the bestest season of the year, which means I'm in heaven at the moment.

I am totally guilty of googling everything, and sometimes believing what I read... though the sources are sketchy. And there's something distinctly alive and writhing about mouldy food. I don't like mouldy food either. Not only does it make me squeamish about that particular food, but i feel so guilty about having to throw it away!

Great job Jeane! I learned quite a few things about you, like I didn't know you had a 4 year old! I love your answer about life not being complete without a cat (or two or three or four, I would say!), and a purring cat being a reason to smile! Thanks for playing with me!

Oscar Wilde was a Libra! When's your birthday?

Bermudaonion- well, I've never had them raw. Just cooked. Maybe that's why I don't like them.

Natasha- if it wasn't so sweet, I could drink it all day. Refreshing.

Bea- So nice to hear from you! Do you prefer dogs? I grew up with one, but I like cats better. They're quieter, and not so demanding of attention.

Black Sheep- Well, it's not pronounced like the animal. I don't know how to put the accent on the last "e" with the keyboard, though.

Alwaysdreamx- I have to say I don't feel guilty at tossing it, just glad to have it out of my sight when it's reached that state!

Sandy Nawrot- Thanks. It was fun to do. I have a very purry cat. We went to three shelters and picked out the kitten that purred the most. It makes me smile.

Jenny- October. Right in the middle. 15.

I played the clarinet too, but in late grade school; I couldn't do any after-school activities in high school because we lived outside the main city in a suburb. Did you like the clarinet?

MMM....chocolate....I so agree, and fall too....I really enjoyed your answers, Jeane! I think I'm going to play, I think I'm going to do this too :-D

I google everything, too. Or look it up on wikipedia. Because usually google takes me to wikipedia.

Fear of mold? :) I guess that's reasonable.

Thanks for the tag, Jeane. I'm still trying to catch up from the trip, but I'll be sure to flag this one for a rainy day.
