I did it! I finished the
TBR Double Dare. Well,
kind of. In the past three months, I've read seventeen books, all off my
TBR shelf here at home. I was sorely tempted a few times with books I saw on display at the library, but managed to restrain myself (jotting down their titles for later). I did post quite a number of times about board books which were from the library, but as I got those for the baby and not my own reading, I didn't think they counted. A few times though, I forgot and read a book my older daughter had brought home from the school library- four Junie B. Jones books. So... I guess those broke my challenge? I'm not sure now if I can consider myself having stuck to this or not.
Woo hoo! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI say you were true to the TBR Double Dare in spirit, and that is what counts. ;-) 17 books is very good. Everyone seems to have done much better with it this year than I did.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you did great! Does this mean you get to go on a book buying binge now? :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha- no, no buying binges. I still have an entire bookcase full of TBRs! I didn't even clear one shelf off- just got it so it's not cluttered with books double-stacked. And I have a dozen new books that I got on swap during the dare, so itching to get to those!
ReplyDeleteWell done Jeane, 17 is a good number. I enjoyed this challenge too and hope to keep emptying my TBR pile as long as I can.
ReplyDeleteYou did great!
